The Board of Directors of the Mad River Valley Health Center, Inc. is pleased to announce that once again this year the Shaw’s Pharmacy in Waterbury will be hosting a vaccination clinic here in the Valley.
The clinic is to be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 9:30AM to 12:00PM at the Waitsfield United Church of Christ, 4355 Main Street, Waitsfield. The vaccinations to be offered include Flu and COVID. Shaw’s will be providing an online link for people to sign up for vaccine time slots. Time slots will be offered in 15 minute increments starting at 9:30AM. When completing the online link you will be asked to select which vaccines you wish to receive and the time slot you would prefer.
Anyone seeking to obtain a vaccine must have health insurance. BE SURE to bring your insurance card with you. Note that Medicare and private insurance will be accepted. The Shaw’s Osco Pharmacy has provided additional information clarifying that Medicaid does cover the cost of vaccination for individuals over the age of 18. Individuals 19 and older, who receive health care insurance coverage through Medicaid, are eligible to register for this vaccination clinic. Medicaid will only cover the cost of vaccinations of individuals 18 or younger if the vaccination is done in a provider’s office. If the vaccination is given in any pharmacy, Medicaid will NOT cover the cost and the vaccination must be paid for by the individuals being vaccinated.
Note also that sign-ups are REQUIRED for anyone interested in getting any of these vaccines. Also note that the time slots are not an absolute guarantee of the time for your vaccination but are intended to spread out those attending the clinic as best as possible. There still may be some waiting involved before receiving your vaccine.
